Coverage Assistance

Finding the right health coverage for you and your family is a challenging process. Between copays, deductibles, provider networks, and formularies, health coverage can be complicated. Our Navigators will help guide you through the process of finding an affordable health care plan that fits your budget and healthcare needs.

In the Health Insurance Marketplace, what you pay depends on your income. We can help determine your eligibility, help you pick out a plan, enroll, and show you how to use your new coverage. We can help you apply, complete your enrollment, select a plan, and show you how to use your new coverage. We’re funded through a federal grant, so our services are always available at no cost to you

High quality and affordable coverage

When it comes to health insurance, everyone’s circumstances are a little different.

If you don’t have coverage through an employer or spouse, you may be eligible for the Individual Marketplace, which offers many affordable health insurance plan options. You may also qualify if you are offered a plan through your workplace that is too expensive.

Annual Open Enrollment for the Individual Marketplace runs from November 1 to January 15 this coming open enrollment season. It is the annual period when you can choose your coverage for the coming year. During this time, you can compare different plans that fit your needs and budget, and enroll in a plan.

If you don’t currently have health coverage, reach out to a Navigator. You may qualify for a Special Enrollment Period and if you are eligible for Medicaid, you can enroll at any time of the year.

A Special Enrollment Period is a time outside of the open enrollment period when you may sign up for health coverage due to a qualifying life event, such as losing your health insurance, family changes, or marriage. You usually have up to 60 days following the qualifying life event to enroll in a health insurance plan. Do not delay. If you’re unsure if you qualify for coverage under the Special Enrollment Period, we encourage you to contact a Navigator to help you assess all your options. HMC Community Navigators work year-round to help New Hampshire residents through every step of the process at no-cost. Choosing the right plan is an important decision and with our local knowledge of New Hampshire, we can assist you in picking a plan that is right for you. We assist consumers beyond the enrollment process to ensure they have the tools and resources they need to use and maintain their health coverage throughout the year.
